In this article, we describe how to integrate PayPal's Instant Payment Notification(IPN) with SendX's Marketing Automation.This integration captures the details of each transaction from your PayPal business account via IPN, updates contact information in SendX, and automatically adjusts their Lifetime Value.
This setup enables the segregation of paying and non-paying contacts based on PayPal data, helping you retarget them later.
Follow these steps to complete the integration:
Go through the PayPal IPN Documentation to set up IPN on your business account.
Add the following link to the form entry for the Notification URL:
https://app.sendx.io/api/v1/integration/paypal/team/<team_id> where <team_id> can be obtained from SendX Settings > Site Setup.
Once the PayPal IPN integration is complete, you can perform a test payment on your business account to view transaction details, including payment status and amount. Relevant custom fields will automatically be added to the contact upon each transaction, as shown below:
Now, your PayPal customers are directly accessible through SendX and can be communicated with and targeted using their various custom fields.
